Embrace the forest and let its stories, scents and sounds lead you to relaxation. The Power of the Forest package will take you on a storytelling journey to the forest spirits' lands, where your senses will awaken and the hustle and bustle will disappear.
On this journey you will hear ancient stories of forest spirits and do sensory exercises that will deepen your connection with nature and yourself. The food on the hike offers flavours that come straight from the forest - natural delicacies with flavours that intertwine with the seasons. In the evening, the sauna pampers you with the scents and gentle warmth of the forest.
Dinner continues the forest theme, offering traditional and surprising flavours of the forest's bounty with earthiness and depth.
For two nights, you will rest in the rustic log cabin of Karkausmäki Guesthouse, where country atmosphere combines with cosy comfort. Soft sheets, peaceful surroundings and the sounds of nature ensure restful sleep.

The easiest way to reach us is by your own car. In Pihtipudas, Viitasaari and Perho you can arrive by bus. If needed, we can help you arrange a ride from nearby towns.

Behind the experience - Three women, one heart.
When you walk through the door of Karkausmäki Guesthouse, you are welcomed by Jenni, the heart of the place and hostess of the inn. She will make sure that you are comfortable and well rested - clean, fresh sheets are waiting for you in bed, the sauna heats up at the right moment, and the atmosphere is just as it should be: warm, unhurried and cosy.
The flavours that delight your senses are created by Marja, the skilful hostess of Pikkupeura Game Restaurant. She prepares her carefully thought-out meals with pure ingredients from the local area - every mouthful carries with it the bounty of nature and a touch of tradition. The food is not just a stomach-filler, but part of the story of the experience.
And when it's time to get out into nature, Marja, the Löytöläntytär, will lead the way. She knows the forest, the swamp, the water and the sky in depth - and most importantly, she knows how to tell their stories. Her experiential and storytelling excursions are not just walks in nature, but deep journeys into the senses, traditions and stopping in the moment.
Together, the three women create an experience where everything has been carefully thought out, but the atmosphere remains genuinely relaxed and natural. When you come here, you don't have to worry about anything - you just breathe, taste, listen and feel.
