The Power of Sky package takes you into the world of myth and stars - the story of the Bear myth, the message of the Octave and the infinite beauty of the sky.
Enjoy the sound of the shaman drum, singing and the kantele, let your thoughts soar high. The local food offers light and harmonious flavours that harmonise with the atmosphere of sky - simple, yet filling snacks that complete the experience.
Perhaps the sky offers stars, northern lights or a fresh breeze from somewhere far away - a moment of magic. A relaxing sauna will finish the day.
Dinner is a meal of airiness, purity and softness - like the light presence of celestial space on a plate.
The experience is crowned by accommodation at Karkausmäki Guesthouse, where the peace and cosy atmosphere of a rustic log house provide the perfect resting place. Let the darkness of night and the silence of nature envelop you in its embrace.

The easiest way to reach us is by your own car. From Pihtipudas Viitasaari and Perho you can get to the bigger towns by bus. If necessary, we can help you arrange a ride from nearby towns.
The nearest railway station is in Haapajärvi and Kannus. Transportation available for additional cost.

Behind the experience - Three women, one heart.
When you walk through the door of Karkausmäki Guesthouse, you are greeted by Jenni, the heart of the place and hostess of the inn. She will make sure that you are comfortable and well rested - clean, fresh sheets are waiting for you in bed, the sauna heats up at the right moment, and the atmosphere is just as it should be: warm, unhurried and cosy.
The flavours that delight your senses are created by Marja, the skilful hostess of Pikkupeura Game Restaurant. She prepares her carefully thought-out meals with pure ingredients from the local area - every mouthful carries with it the bounty of nature and a touch of tradition. The food is not just a stomach-filler, but part of the story of the experience.
And when it's time to get out into nature, Marja, the Löytöläntytär, will lead the way. She knows the forest, the swamp, the water and the sky in depth - and most importantly, she knows how to tell their stories. Her experiential and storytelling excursions are not just walks in nature, but deep journeys into the senses, traditions and stopping in the moment.
Together, the three women create an experience where everything has been carefully thought out, but the atmosphere remains genuinely relaxed and natural. When you come here, you don't have to worry about anything - you just breathe, taste, listen and feel.
